MAUNGARAKI TENNIS CLUB

Maungaraki Tennis Club Open Days will be held on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at 10A Barberry Grove. This is part of Love Tennis - a nationwide tennis event.  Bring your family and friends to have a hit!

We'll have - Giveaway prizes, Hell Pizza vouchers for the first 100 visitors each day, fun games,  BBQ, regional draw for a free trip to the Auckland ASB Classic

GOODTIME MUSIC BUS

Want to learn an instrument, play in a band and perform on a stage?! Well your child's school is one of the lucky schools that has Goodtime Music Academy here each week to run its one-of-a-kind Music Bus Programme. Learn more at GoodtimeMusicAcademy.co.nz

Students can choose from learning the Drums, Keyboard, Ukulele and Guitar. These small group lessons (3-5 students) are 30 minutes long and are held weekly, on the school grounds and throughout the school day. Spaces in lessons are limited and students that are not able to be placed this term will be placed on a waiting list until a space opens up.

Lessons are $17.50 per week and are invoiced by the term. Weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment options are available through Ezidebit.

2020 WEETBIX TRYATHLON

 The Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is designed for Kiwi kids aged 7-15 years to help them stay active and healthy through a programme of participation. Open to Kiwi kids of all sporting abilities the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is a fun day out for kids, parents and families. Participants get to swim, cycle, and run their way around age appropriate courses, either as an individual or as part of a team of two. Refer to https://tryathlon.co.nz/ for more information.

Registrations for the 2020 series open Wednesday 28th August with the Lower Hutt event being held on Thursday 12th March 2020. Maungaraki School has a school group entry, so when placing your registration please be sure to include the school in your entry, or follow this link directly for the Hutt City event:

For the event Maungaraki School will have a marquee which students and parents from the school can use on the day. Parents are responsible for entering their own children into the event and for supervising their own child on the day.

LEGO SHOW

Lower Hutt will be hosting Wellington’s only Lego Show on September 14th and 15th at Lower Hutt Events Centre.  It’s going to be bigger and better than any Lego show that has been held
in the city before.

The show will be raising money for the Back to Schools charity, that supports children in low deciles return to school with essential items they need for the new school year.  See the attached poster for more details.

TENNIS COACHING

Term 4 Tennis coaching is now open for children from year 2 to year 8.  Places are available in this programme which takes place on Tuesdays from 1.00pm -1.40pm at Maungarak.  Starting on Tuesday 22 October 2019 and continuing for 6 consecutive weeks. 

The coach will be Mr Gary Nelson, an experienced teacher and qualified tennis coach.  All equipment is provided including rackets. Cost is $50-00 for the block of 6 lessons and should be paid at the first lesson.  If you wish to enrol please phone Gary Nelson (Ph- 5897178) as soon as possible.  Enrolments will be taken on a first in, first served basis.

CRICKET

Like to play cricket this summer? HDCC Junior Cricket registration are now open for the 2019-20 cricket season.  "Get involved in all the fun, excitement and action of cricket this summer."  Head to our club website www.huttdistrictcc.org.nz to play cricket.  Our club caters for boys and girls from the ages of 5 to 13.

  • Year 1 Have a Go cricket played on Friday nights
  • Year 2-4 (age 6-8) Softball cricket (Saturday Mornings)
  • Year 5-8 (age 9-13) Hardball cricket (Saturday Mornings)
  • Girls year 5-8 - Sunday Girls only softball cricket

Alternatively you can visit the club in person to register on  Saturday 14 September from 10am to 1pm at the Hutt Recreation Ground (entrance off Myrtle Street).
