Term 2

Welcome back to Term 2. On behalf of the Fern staff, we'd like to extend a massive thank you for your support and patience through a very different first term. We are very excited for the upcoming term where a lot of the restrictions are now able to be removed, allowing us many more opportunities for engaging learning!

As a context for our learning this term, we will be exploring the future of our local Lower Hutt area. We aim to make connections with the council and members of different local communities to understand the economic, environmental and cultural needs that are taken into consideration when developing an area for the future. Students will then design their own development concept for a local area based on their research findings of the local needs.

We have a number of other exciting events planned including a food demonstration from Life Education and Swimming Sports at the end of term. We will also continue our Technology programme both at Hutt Intermediate in Week 1 and through weekly sessions in our school's own Waihanga Centre.
