PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Shane Robinson —

Kia ora whanau, I hope you are all well.

We have had a fun filled couple of weeks here at school with outdoor activities and sports in the spotlight. Our school is in the midst of swimming with classes heading down to Huia Pool most days for instruction. Swimming is such an important skill for our children and it has been wonderful to see the way our kids have taken to the water.

Our Year 7 & 8 students also completed their leadership camp last week. One of the key activities involved a challenging walk to Belmont Trig. The walk pushed children to step outside of their physical comforts zones and experience the reward of completing a tough task. We had a spectacular day for our walk and enjoyed the scenery from the top, Wellington looked wonderful all laid out before us. More on the Leadership camp can be found on Facebook.

Finally, as a school we are currently reviewing the way we report to parents.

With the change of government last year National Standards is no longer a compulsory reporting tool. Over the next two weeks you will receive an invitation to give feedback on what you would like to see in your child's reports. As a staff we have been looking at ways in which we can report academic progress and social growth to you in a clear and concise way. We are really interested in your views on what works for you as a parent and what you would like to know about your child's development.

Until next time, be your best.

No riera, kia kaha ra,
Nga Mihi Nui
