PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Farewell
This week we say a sad farewell to our longest standing staff member. Diane Schenkel will be retiring at the end of this term, we will have a presentation at Fridays assembly to acknowledge her time here on the hill.
Diane has been working alongside children and their families here at Maungaraki School for the last 17 years. Her work has been invaluable to the development of so many children, she has a very special place at the heart of our school. The strong relationships she has built with families is a true credit to the person she is. Her work has been very much needed and often carried out behind the scenes, she is an integral part of what makes the school tick.
Diane works in a caring and patient way and has become an expert in so many areas of children's learning and development, there is not much she has not dealt with. Her kind manner and keen interest in seeing children develop made her a huge asset to our place. Over her years Diane has worn many hats and will be missed here.
I am sure you will join us as a School and Board of Trustees in wishing Diane all the best in her retirement.
Thank you for all of your support through the term. We have had a wonderful first term filled with amazing opportunities for our students. We really appreciate all that you do to support the school and students here at Maungaraki, thank you and have a wonderful break. We look forward to seeing you all in Term 2.
Nga mihi nui
