BOARD MESSAGE
Thank you
Tēnā koutou,
Before everyone heads off for a well-deserved break, I wanted to reach out on behalf of the board and acknowledge our school’s amazing community.
The school has had an event filled year with our Matariki celebration and the entertaining school production. The parent quiz night, the student disco/movie nights, and the Community Carols evening were also amazing. We’d like to thank our parents, staff and Home and School members for making these events the success they were.
We’d also like to thank you all for your patience and understanding this year with all the construction disruption. It’s great to see our new carpark and the two new tech classrooms up and running and I know the board is extremely excited to see our Waihanga programme grow.
At our last board meeting we reviewed this year’s student achievement data. The results were, as always, impressive. As a parent, I know it can be hard sometimes to know how we compare to other schools - but I can assure you when it comes to reading, writing and mathematics, our school is a high achiever. These results are a testament to all the hard work that is done by Shane, his senior leadership team, and all the teachers at the school. As a board, we set a high bar every year, and this year the school has delivered again. We’d also like to acknowledge the work the school does with its HEART values. We believe that these values along with the school’s curriculum are what makes Maungaraki School such a great place.
We hope you all have an enjoyable and safe Christmas break; we look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
Nga mihi nui ki a koutou
