PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
New Classroom Blessing
Kia ora koutou,
We are preparing for an amazing week at Maungaraki School next week. Our students have been working to perfect their performances for the school production. The production is a wonderful celebration of the arts and a testament to the talent and hard work of our students and staff which puts dance and drama to the fore.
I would like to thank our whānau for your invaluable support in bringing this event to life. Your help with costumes, organising logistics, and ensuring that the children are prepared for the night has made a real difference. Your involvement not only enhances the experience for our students but also strengthens our school community. We can not wait to share the finished product with you next week.
In addition to our exciting production, I am thrilled to finally share some news about our new 3 classroom block. After a long time building and much anticipation, our three-classroom block is now complete and ready for use. We will celebrate this milestone with an official blessing on Monday, September 23rd, at 9am. We warmly invite you to join us for this special occasion.
Following the blessing, we will open the new space for whanau visits on Tuesday, September 24th, and Wednesday, September 25th, from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. This new facility will house our Waihanga Programme for the remainder of the year. We are excited about the opportunities this space will provide for our students going forward and grateful for your patience as we navigated the challenges of our building projects.
As a side note, the main field remediation is scheduled to take place during the Term 3 holidays, and we are hopeful that we will be back on the new grass by mid Term 4. Thank you once again for your understanding and support throughout these developments. Your patience and cooperation have been greatly appreciated, and we are looking forward to enjoying the fruits of these efforts in 2025 and beyond.
Ngā mihi nui,
Shane Robinson
