RIPPA RUGBY

On Monday and Tuesday next week the Year 5/6 Maungaraki Rippa team is representing Wellington in the National Rippa Championship at Wakefield Park in Island Bay. We're so excited for them and know they'll do us and Wellington proud.

We are putting on a free bus from school on the Monday for some year 5/6 students to watch the morning games and cheer the team on. We'd love to be able to offer this to some more students. To do this, we need your help! If you are keen to come along on the bus with us to supervise the children and watch some awesome Rippa Rugby, please let us know by emailing alle.pollard@maungarakischool.net or calling the office.

SCHOOL HĀNGĪ

We are super excited to be having a Hāngī at Maungaraki School on Friday 13 September. Are you keen to help out on the day?  We will need help with food preparation before hand on the Thursday or digging the Hāngī pit with the kids. On the day we'll need help with putting the Hāngī down early in the morning and handing out hot drinks & toast.  If you would like to help email through to Mrs Andis or Mrs Renfrew.

This Hāngī is a taster for our students, and a practise for us so we can run a full community Hāngī in the future. Whānau are welcome to come along in the the afternoon and have a taste as well, it will be a sampler, not a meal for each person.

We will share more information in the next Newsletter.

CULTURAL GROUP

Kia ora koutou! Our Cultural Group is wanting to perform some new songs, and/or dances. We are looking for people who could support us in learning about a song/dance from their culture. We would love to be able to better represent our community's diversity, but we need your support! If you are interested, or have an idea that we could look into please contact Mrs Andis with details.
