Maungaraki School —

The School Cross Country will be held next week

CROSS COUNTRY

This coming Tuesday 22 May is the School Cross Country.  The course this year will include the school fields, the school driveway and walkway, Dowse Drive and Barberry Grove.  As a result, the school driveway will be closed on Tuesday morning until 11:30am (and this Friday afternoon from 1:50pm to 3:00pm for practice).

The best viewing spots for the races will be on the school field for Kowhai races and Barberry Grove for Nikau and Totara syndicate races.  The course will be clearly marked and we ask parents to please stay off the course to give all students the best chance as they compete.

Approximate race start timetable (depending on race timings) is:

9.20 - Year 1 boys and girls
9.30 - Year 2 boys and girls
9.40 - Year 3 boys and girls
9.50 - Year 4 boys and girls
10.00 - Year 5 boys and girls
10.20 - Year 6 boys and girls
10.40 - Year 7 boys and girls
11.00 - Year 8 boys and girls

There will also be a coffee cart on site for all families and supporters to get their coffee fix while enjoying the races.  We will notify everyone via the School Facebook page if their is going to be a postponement due to the weather.  The postponement day is Thursday the 24th of May.

If you have any questions about Cross Country please direct these to Mr C.

NETBALL

Netball is underway with all 7 teams having started the season.  The year 5/6 teams have  completed their grading games and will start their round robin matches in the coming week.  Check out the Netball Hutt Valley website for details on game times or check in with your team manager.  The year 7/8 teams have one more grading game to go and then a round one draw will be available.

Remember to have fun and be a great sport.
