FOOTBALL GLORY - VICTORY SEALED AGAINST NORMANDALE

The Maungaraki Year 5/6 football team displayed stellar teamwork and impressive skills in the annual match against Normandale School on November 2nd. After two weeks of dedicated lunchtime training, the team of 13 were ready to challenge Normandale's current title holders and disrupt their winning streak.

It was an intense battle that showcased fabulous football skills which resulting in a 1 all tie at half time. Coming out strong in the second half with fantastic team spirit, the Maungaraki boys emerged triumphant with a 4-3 victory. The outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, with a very proud Miss Reddy and Mr Robertson on the sidelines. Special mention to Connor Harris who earned the title of MVP as awarded by Normandale's Principal, Matt Burt.

Congratulations to the team for their well-deserved win! 

TRADITIONAL MĀORI GAMES

Maungaraki School hosted the first annual Traditional Māori Games Festival on Wednesday 25th of October. Eleven Schools from all over Lower Hutt came and participated in a day that was all about whakawhanaungatanga and building relationships across different schools. The tamariki learned new kēmu (games) and made new friends and we look forward to the next festival!

BASKETBALL AWARDS
