Update

We have had a great start to the year, with the hugely successful quiz night in April. Thanks so much again to everyone who supported this event, from the helpers on the night, to the people who participated in quiz teams, and to our generous sponsors from the wider community. As well has being a lot of fun, we raised over $6,000 which goes towards upgrading the school’s hard surfaces.

We recently ran our popular pizza lunch. Despite the weather closing in at lunchtime and the pizza running late, the children still enjoyed it. We were really sorry for the delay in getting the pizza to the children.  The late arrival of the pizzas and was out of our control. We followed up with Pizza Hut and have let them know the delay was unacceptable.

Please check your lunchonline details to ensure your child is in the correct classroom.  This will help the Pizza lunches run more smoothly in the future.

The end of term is fast approaching so we have decided to move the Disco to Friday 9 August. This will enable us to get sufficient parent volunteers to run the evening. If you are keen to help out at the disco, please let Lizzie Briscoe, or the office staff know.

We have more fundraisers coming up in term 3, including chocolate sales and another pizza lunch. The profits of the chocolate sales will go to a sun shade for the hard surfaces area and the next pizza lunch will go towards the year 5&6 end of year camp.

Later in the year we will be having a family fun fiesta for the whole family to enjoy, another parent’s night out and the sale of calendars featuring your child’s artwork.  Through our fundraising, the committee will be able to donate a significant amount of money towards Kapa Haka uniforms.  We have also contributed to materials for the Build ’n’ Play shed, and helped with the costs of getting our three NZ Karate representatives to Japan.

Last year’s Entertainment Books have now expired, so please purchase your new memberships through the school (see the article with details).
