TOUCH FINALS

Maungaraki School —

Term 1

The Term 1 touch season is now done and dusted, and what an amazing season it was! A huge congratulations to all the players. You represented the school with pride and showed incredible fair play and hard work. It was a successful season for our Maungaraki teams, with three of them taking out their respective grades and a respective third placing for another team. Maungaraki Metros won the year 3/4 Boys section 1 grade, Maungaraki Mavericks won the year 5/6 Mixed section 1 grade, Maungaraki Magic won the year 7/8 Mixed section 2 grade, and Maungaraki Mustangs won the year 7/8 Mixed section 1 grade - amazing effort everyone!

Thank you VERY much to our coaches and managers! So many of our students represent Maungaraki School in a variety of sports because of those that volunteer their time to support our teams - we really cannot do it without you! If you are new to the Maungaraki whānau and would like to get involved in coaching our teams, please get in touch - alle.pollard@maungaraki.school.nz.

Maungaraki Magnetic (Yr 3 & 4 mixed)

This team showed positive growth throughout the season. They had a mix of experience, many talented players, and some very upbeat attitudes. They managed to pull themselves up to the C Final after making two wins and a draw for the season. This meant they had a more challenging final than we were expecting, so unfortunately weren't able to clinch the win.

Maungaraki Matrix (Year 5 & 6 boys)

MVP: Darius Engels
MIP: Daniel Brown

Maungaraki Marvels (Year 5 & 6 mixed)

MVP: Koko Imazu
MIP: Noah Kleinveld

Maungaraki Mavericks (Year 5 & 6 mixed) - WINNER Section 1
MIP: Olivia Turner and Lucy Papps
MVP: Toby Browne

Maungaraki Madness (Year 7 & 8 girls)
MIP: Camila Schmidt
MVP: Molly Gilhooly
This team had possibly the most challenging season of all teams in their grade. There was a mix of experience, with two debutantes taking to the field this season, a few development players, and a couple of seasoned and highly skilled players. In spite of all of this the team stayed positive, put points on the board, and showed a highly cohesive display for their final game, putting on their best performance of the season.

Maungaraki Magic (Yr 7/8 mixed) - WINNER Section 2
MIP: Josh Gough
MVP: Carlo Dougan

Maungaraki Mustangs (Yr 7/8 mixed) - WINNER Section 1
MVP: Lachlan Meehan for being the Ultimate team player, who radiated positivity and always cheered on his fellow teammates.
MIP: Sophia Berry, who was defensively amazing on the wing, and always gave her all for the team.
