Immersed in the Arts

Kia ora e te whānau,

What an incredible Term 3 we have had up here on the hill.  It was wonderful seeing the community coming into the school for our Hāngī on Friday.  All of the learning that enveloped this experience for the children was beautiful to watch.  It was a truly incredible day that optimised all that is amazing about the Maungaraki Community.  A huge thank you must go to the whole team that helped pull off this event.  From the organisers to the emergency ovens, thank you! 

This term our children have been fully immersed in the Arts, with exposure to different forms of Visual artists, the specific techniques used, and learning to express themselves through art. There has been tireless practising and choreographing of DanceSplash (who perform tonight!) as well as the talent quest running over the last few weeks. The teachers are in full swing preparing their classrooms for the Art Showcase next week, and we can't wait for you to take your tour around the classrooms and be entertained by performances next Wednesday. 

Athletics preparations are now underway too, as we are starting to see more sunshine! So much to continue looking forward to as we head towards the final term of the year - watch this space!
