Term 4

MURAL MASTERPIECE COMPETITION

This term our Enviro group and the Koru Syndicate have been working on a mural for the Resene Mural Masterpiece competition. Ava Morris designed the mural, which is called 'Mythical Forest'. She made many little dragons out of fimo, and held lunchtime workshops to help other children make them too. Tim, our caretaker, cut windows to have the little display boxes behind. These were painted by the Koru Syndicate, and the dragons were glued in by Ava. They are covered with perspex to help keep them safe from the weather. The main part of the mural was painted by the Enviro group as well as the Koru Syndicate who did this during their lunchtimes. Hopefully the junior school enjoys finding the dragons hidden in the windows, as well as the mural which we painted!

A big thanks to Kim and Tim for putting it together and to Ava for her hard work in completing the mural.

BOOK EXCHANGE

This will be held in Room 10 on Friday at lunchtime. Kids can bring in used books in good condition, to exchange for a 'new for them' book. A good idea for swapping over books that have been outgrown, especially with the holidays fast approaching. The Enviro team will be on hand to help children select a new book if needed.

LOUD SHIRT DAY

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to Loud Shirt day. We managed to raise just over $275 which is awesome.  We will be donating this to them to help those with cochlear implants learn to listen and communicate.
