Community Librarian

My name is Lisa Page and I am your local Maungaraki Community Pou Tiaki.

I work Tuesdays to Fridays 3pm to 6pm and Saturdays 10am to 2pm.

I have lived in Maungaraki for 28.5 years and helped with many different areas in the community such as: Plunket, Playcentre, Scout Leader (Keas, Cubs and Scouts). My 3 children have all gone through Maungaraki school and now are doing High school and University studies.

In my spare time I like Knitting, Crochet, Patchwork and Quilting, Sewing, Writing Novels (which i have published two books so far) and love reading.

In the library I will be introducing fun activities.

Tuesdays: Lego will be out for you to create with and the School Photography club use the library as a base.

Wednesdays: I will put up 10 Quiz Questions for Solving - which might be brain teasers or trivia questions etc.

Thursdays 3.30pm to 4.30pm: Sketch club with Mike and he tells me that previous Sketch Clubbers are most welcome. We hope to run an exhibition later this year.

Fridays 1st and 3rd of the month 3.30pm to 4.30pm will be a Book Club for Kids.
Fridays 2nd and 4th of the month 3.30pm to 4.30pm will be a Writing Club for Kids

Saturdays 1st and 3rd of the month 10.30am to 12.30pm Handcrafts, Knitting, Cross stitch etc - bring a project to work on if you have one or I can teach you the basics of Knitting or Cross stitch.

Saturday 2nd and 4th of the Month 10am set to 2pm Dungeons and Dragons - bring your own game scenario and team to play.

The big puzzle (1000 pieces) will be out for anyone to do and we also have a GREEN suggestion box so let me know your ideas.
