TOUCH RUGBY

Maungaraki School —

Term 4

TEAMS

It was unfortunate that term 1 touch rugby was cut short due to the Covid lockdowns.  So it's been great this term to have 12 touch teams from Maungaraki school competing across the grades.  Today is the last of the round games and next week is finals day.  Good luck to all of our teams for their last 2 games of the year.

TOUCH JAM TOURNAMENT

We recently had 2 teams competing in the Touch Jam tournament at Hutt Park against teams from throughout the country.  Maungaraki had a girls year 5 & 6 team and a year 7 & 8 mixed team which included some of our year 5 & 6 boys.

Both teams competed well and had a heap of fun, finishing the day off with a colour run.  Thanks to all of the coaches and our parent support on the day to make this possible for our kids.

TOUCH EXTENDER SERIES

Some of our touch players attended the Wellington Touch Rugby Extender series which was held at Hutt Park over 5 weeks from October.  Following the series they have attended a Festival tournament in Whanganui and are now training hard to attend the IPS tournament in Palmerston North at the end of the year.  Congratulations to all of those players involved, you have trained hard and represented your school well.  Good luck at your tournament.
