Shane Robinson —

Class Placements 2021

Kia Ora,

Maungaraki School has been extremely busy over the last two weeks. We have had amazing speech competitions, a wonderful cultural sharing day, fun filled athletics days, some neat assemblies and a great quiz night. Thank you so much for supporting your children and the school in the way you do, it is much appreciated.

We are at the mid way point of Term Four and that means that some of the work being done here at school is around planning for 2021 and how that may look. We have a great teaching team and we are very lucky to have most of these amazing people staying here next year.

We do have two sad farewells to make. Kate Shirley and Rebecca Renfrew will be leaving Maungaraki School at the end of the year. Kate has been a part of the team here for the last two years, teaching in the junior and middle areas of the school. She has a passion for seeing play based learning impact on education and is hoping to further explore this in her next role.

Rebecca has been at Maungaraki School for the last 7 years teaching in the junior school. Rebecca has won a job at Ko Taku Reo as a case worker for children with hearing needs. This has been a passion of hers and she is very excited about her new role. We are sad to say farewell Kate and Rebecca but wish them all the best in their next adventure.

The teaching team will look like this in 2021.

Class Placements

We are currently in the midst of looking at class placements for 2021. Staff look at a wide range of factors to make classrooms lists that best suit the learning and social needs of all children. If you do have something additional that you would like to be taken into consideration as we look at these lists please contact me within the next week - at principal@maungaraki.school.nz or alternatively call the office to make an appointment to meet.

As always, if you have any questions about this please contact me.
