PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Shane Robinson —

Welcome back to Term 4

Kia ora e te whānau.

I hope you all enjoyed a break over the last two weeks.

We have an amazingly athletic term coming up with Camp, EOTC, Football, Athletics, Walking competitions, Touch Rugby, Netball and much much more.  Maungaraki School will certainly be an active environment.  Lets hope the weather is good to us up here on the hill.

We have been busy with construction action over the last two weeks.  We are currently working on a project to improve the access ways into our classrooms.  This work is a requirement of the ministry so all students can access the classrooms they need to.  The work involves installing new improved ramps, improving pathways and drainage as well as joining some classrooms together as modern learning environments.  Unfortunately as with many building projects the work is not progressing as quickly as we would like.  The term ahead will have some visible signs of construction.

The pathways outside of Rooms 1, 2, 3 & the Hub are being redesigned.  This will cause some disruption when the children are back at school.  Hopefully most of the noisy demolition will be completed before the end of next week.  However workmen will be on site outside these areas for a number of weeks.  Entry to the classrooms is via temporary ramps.

All children will be informed of the changes and what to look out for.  At home can you please talk to children about staying out of fenced off areas, even if things like balls or clothing go into these areas it is vital children know to stay away.

Each class will need to follow the designated entrance way and it will be important for Rooms 1, 2, 3 and the Hub to use the following access way:

Room 1 - Temporary Ramp
Room 2 & 3 - Temporary Ramp
The Hub - Entry of the courts only.

We do apologise for this inconvenience.

Until next time, be your best.

No reira, kia kaha ra,
Nga Mihi Nui,

Shane Robinson
