Maungaraki School —

For the week ending 23 March

ASSEMBLY

The school assembly on Monday 26 March has been cancelled due to the Goal setting nights on Monday 26 & Tuesday 27 March.

STAFF LEAVING

Laurina our Bursar & Librarian has accepted a position at Waterloo School as a full time Librarian. This is an awesome opportunity for her and gives Laurina more time doing the thing she loves - working with kids in the Library.  She has been here for three years and among other things has done a wonderful job of running our Library, organising Lit quiz and keeping on top of the Bursar role. I would like to thank her for all of her efforts here at Maungaraki School. We will miss her but I am sure you will join me in wishing her the best of luck in her new role.

GENESIS - SCHOOL-GEN GIVEAWAY

Thanks to Genesis, School-gen is giving away $50,000 to help schools energise young minds. Our school has registered in this competition and would love as much support as possible! All you need to do is head along to the below link and vote for us,  Please encourage families and friends to vote as well.  Voting closes 5pm on the 2nd April.  Thanks for your support.

REMEMBER: YOU CAN VOTE ONCE PER DAY

MOVIN MARCH

We have loved being active for Movin' March.  Well done to everyone who has completed their passport and received a prize from Mrs Renfrew.  Movin' March finishes next Thursday 29th March so keep moving!

It was great to see many of the children bringing their own bikes to school and others using those provided to improve their bike & scooter skills.  Unfortunately due to the weather they had to cancel the Thursday bike & scooter sessions.  The forecast is not looking good for the Friday so this may also be cancelled.  These will be rescheduled next term time permitting.

SCIENCE DAY

Thanks for your donations for the science day, we have enough milk bottle tops.  We still need sipper bottle tops from pump and similar bottles.

BEE HEALTHY DENTAL CLINIC

The Dental bus has now left the school.  If your child was not seen by the dental nurses they may not have been due or they have run out of time to see them.  If you would like to book an appointment or discuss anything please contact them on: 0800 Talk Teeth or 0800 825 583
