Term 3

SWIMMING

On Friday 8 July, we had a number of year 4-8 children compete in the Maungaraki School Swimming Sports at Huia Pool. All children did an amazing job competing but also representing the school in a public place.  See the attached Swimming Results document for top placings in each event.

LHPSSA has made the decision to forgo South-West Zone Swimming this year, and go straight to Interzone Swimming, which will be held on the 16th of September.

We received the qualifying times for entry yesterday and have made the decision to take down a select number of children to Huia Pool next Friday 26 August. We are taking our fastest swimmers as per the results of our Swimming Sports, and will be making decisions based off their times. A Signmee has been sent out to these children.

BASKETBALL

It is amazing to have 'The Orange Wave' at Walter Nash Stadium throughout the week for our Tiniball, Miniball and Basketball competitions. We have had seven teams competing for Maungaraki School over terms 2 and 3. A huge shout out to our coaches who turn up week in and week out for practices and games, through illnesses and isolation periods! Fees for term 3 have been added to your account for payment.

NETBALL

We have nearly made it to the end of the season. A massive thank you to all of our coaches and managers for the time, effort and encouragement you give all of our players.  We are blessed with some amazing people in our community - thank you!

Junior Prizegiving is on Saturday 3 September, this is for all teams in the year 5/6 grade and for grade winners only in years 7/8.

Year 3/4 Future Ferns is played in term 4 starting on Saturday 29 October.  I Signmee notice will be sent out later in the term to get the names of those who are interested in playing.  

TOUCH

Once we have wrapped up our winter codes a 'Touch Rugby Interest' Signmee will be sent out. Keep an eye out for this in the next few weeks. 

The year 7/8 grade is played at Fraser park on Thursday nights from 4pm.
Junior grades are held at Hutt Park on Friday nights from 3:30pm.

A reminder that all sports fees are now due.  Please make payment via the office for EFTPOS including credit card payments, or online to the schools bank account referencing the child's name and details of the payment:
