We celebrate Support Staff Day

Kia Ora,

This Wednesday was Support Staff day across New Zealand.  A day to celebrate the people who make a huge difference to the success of children's learning across New Zealand.  The Support Staff at Maungaraki School are without question one of the most amazing groups of people you will come across.  They are dedicated to our learners and work tirelessly to assist groups and individuals at our school.  Their commitment and passion is admirable.  I would like to personally thank them all for all of the efforts they put into our young people. They are a huge part of making Maungaraki School the happy and successful place it is.

Our school Reading Challenge is on at the moment.  We have been blown away with the way our children have responded to this event.  I've seen children taking time to complete reading tasks before school, after school, during break times...when ever and where ever they can.  Please continue to gather sponsors if you have not already - every dollar helps and we really do appreciate the wonderful support we receive.

Building work here at School continues, even in the rain. Our lovely field is looking a little worse for wear but the classrooms are taking shape.  We are still on track to be able to open our three new spaces at the beginning of Term 3.

Finally I am pleased to inform you that Lauren Fox will be teaching in our Year 7 & 8 hub for the remainder of the year. Lauren has been a part of the Maungaraki School community for a number of years and is very experienced teaching in the Year 7 & 8 hub.

Stay warm and dry out there.  Until next time, be your best.

No riera, kia kaha ra,
Nga Mihi Nui.
