Term 4

MAUNGARAKI BOOK EXCHANGE

Our Book Exchange is now open for Term 4 being after school in Room 9 each Friday and is run by the Enviro Team. The Book Exchange will be open for children to swap a book they've read for a new-to-them book. If they wish to, they make keep their chosen book forever, or they may bring it in for a new one the following week. We have hundreds of novels and picture books, so bring in books in great condition, and swap for a new book! The Maungaraki Book Exchange is all about supporting children in developing a love of reading. We hope our Book Exchange will provide a small way of helping children keep reading new books without incurring any cost, as well as learning about the value of recycling.

MAUNGARAKI COMMUNITY GARDEN

We have started planting seedlings in our garden. The Enviro team have been very busy naming the seedlings, and they do this on Wednesday at lunchtime with Mrs Webby and the Maungaraki Community Gardeners. Room 9 waters the seedlings in the afternoon each day. If anyone has extra seedlings at home that they would like to donate to the school, they can be dropped off to Room 9. We are going to be planting some tomato and sunflower seeds this week. A big thanks to the caretaker Tim for putting the garden together for us!

BOOK CLUB

Issue 7 of our Scholastic Book Club is closing on Tuesday 27 October at 9am.  Get your orders in online and they will be delivered to school.

HATS

A reminder that all students are required to wear at hat at breaks times during terms 1 & 4.  Any children who do not have a hat will be required to stay in the shade during break times. School hats can be purchased online from our website for $15 and we do have a small amount of stock available from the school office.

If you played Basketball or Netball this season please return your netball tunic and basketball singlet to the office OR to Mrs Prichard or Mr Cowman.  Thanks.
