Seeds for winter

COMMUNITY GARDEN

With the rising cost of vegetables our community garden is becoming more important as a resource for the community. Seeds for winter crops are germinating right now and soon carrots, broccoli, cabbages, leeks will be filling the gaps that are there now. Excess seedlings will be left by the water tanks if you want to take some home for your garden. The tomatoes and beans will continue ripening for the next few weeks.

As always, help yourself to the herbs including sage and chives, and silverbeet while they are still in abundance. If you are throwing out shoes we will take the shoelaces for garden ties. Just tie the shoelaces to a pole and we will take them - and help yourself to silverbeet in return or munch on a tomato as you leave. We don’t use any spray so everything is safe to eat.
