Maungaraki School —

Week 1

NEW STUDENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

We are using a new student management system.  In the new few weeks we will roll out the student app 'Hero' and communicate details on how to set this up.  Until we do this, access to the current student app has been disabled.  If you have any questions or need to update information for your child/ren, please contact the school office.

SPORT

We have a change in Sport and Health & PE Leadership at Maungaraki School this year!  We'd like to welcome Sam Blandford as Sports Coordinator and Health & PE Leader for Maungaraki School! Sam also teaches in Room 3 in the Fern syndicate. Sam has worked at Pinehaven School and Trentham School in Upper Hutt, and has a passion for sports and the outdoors. He was in charge of running sports programmes across the Upper Hutt cluster. If you have any sporting queries, please email Sam at sam.blandford@maungaraki.school.nz.

Alle Pollard-Smith will be supporting Sam in this role for Term 1. Thank you very much for your continued support of sport at our kura. We appreciate all offers of help and the volunteers that make running such successful events and sports teams possible!

ABSENCES

If your child is sick or away for any reason please advise us.  You can do this by:

  • Absence line - call 5697205 and leave a message on our absence line
  • Absentees link - from the school website
  • Email - absence@maungaraki.school.nz

Please leave details of the child's name, classroom and reason for absence.  If a child is absent and we have not received a message we will contact you.

Lateness & leaving early

Under alert level red settings we are limiting visitors into school.  Please give us a call if you would like to pick up your child early.  We will have them collected from class and they will meet you at the entrance to the office.  We appreciate your support with this.

Children who arrive late are being sent directly to class and the teacher has a process for recording this.

ROAD PATROL

We are grateful to have volunteers from our community to support our Road Patrol students each morning and afternoon.  If you are able to support us in this way please email us office@maungaraki.school.nz
