Maungaraki School —

Term 2

NEW STUDENTS

We would like to warmly welcome the following students who have started at Maungaraki School this Term:

Shreya & Dishab, Xixi, Rowan, Ruben & Ethan, Luka, Dulcie, Dakota, Sophia and Madison.

SCHOOL DRIVEWAY

The school driveway is closed between 8:30am - 9:00am and 3:00pm - 3:15pm.  Please be careful when using the driveway after these hours as we want to keep our children safe.

ENROLMENTS

For planning purposes it helps us to know how many children are due to start at school.  If you have children or know of families and neighbours who have children in our zone, who will be starting at Maungaraki School in 2018 or 2019 please let us know.  Ask them to contact the school office on on 569 7205 or to pop in to get an enrolment pack.  You are welcome to meet with the Principal or call us if you have any questions.

We have our next New Entrant Parents evening at 6pm on Tuesday 5th June.

SCHOOL DISCO

Welcome to the Jungle!  This is the theme for our next school disco being held on Friday 8 June from 6pm - 8pm in the Community Hall.  $5 per child or $10 per family with prizes for the best costumes.  Use cash or a treat ticket to buy goodies, nails and tattoos.

ENVIRO TEAM UPDATE

Hello Families,

The enviro team has recently had a meeting and we have talked about the up and coming events happening around the school. Firstly, we will be having a working bee sometime in Term 3.  We look forward to giving you a better update closer to the time.

Secondly, some of us work on the community gardens along with some hard working ladies on Monday and Friday lunches, to help us out.  If anyone has any spare seeds for us to plant around the bottom field, please bring them to Room 11 & 12 and someone will kindly collect them from you.

Thanks.

SHOE CLINIC SCHOOL REWARDS SCHEME

We would like to thank all of our families who took advantage of the Shoe Clinic School Rewards Scheme. Hamish French the owner of the Lower Hutt & Wellington stores kindly donated a cheque for $60 to Maungaraki school from purchases made as part of the scheme. We appreciate their donation.

For each purchase $10 is donated back to the nominated school and there are other benefits available. This deal continues throughout the year, see the newsletter article for more details and please continue to support Shoe Clinic.
