The Maungaraki Home & School Committee recently held their 2018 AGM

PRESIDENTS REPORT

I cannot believe that another year has passed and we are now holding our 2018 AGM!  What a year it has been!  I have been privileged enough to hold the role of President of the Home and School committee for the second year now and I continue to love what we as a committee do for our school.

We had our first ever Adidas Fun Run and it was an event to remember!  Not only did we raise an incredible amount of funds, we brought our school community together in an evening event which will not be forgotten.  I will not forget having to tell kids and parents alike that we were closing the event down as it was getting too dark to run the course anymore.  Seeing families at the school, engaging with one another at an event run by Home and School was fantastic 😊

We held our first ever Family Night Barn Dance, another great opportunity to get families involved in our school community and have a bit of fun.  Hot chocolates, juices, pizza lunch, calendars, treat boxes, class wearable photos, just to name a few of the things that we as a committee have been involved in.  We should all be extremely proud of ourselves for the enormous effort that we have put in to raise money for the school.  I personally cannot thank you enough for all the time that you have donated to helping set up and run these events.

It has been a great 12 months working alongside Shane to help support his vision for the school and ensure that the Home and School Committee is a part of making this vision come to life.  I am looking forward to the decisions that we have made around contributing to creating more visuals around the school which reflect the school values and what ultimately makes Maungaraki School such a great school.

I feel that we have a robust plan in place for the remainder of the year that will only continue to see us raise the much needed funds for the Hard Surfaces and our teacher and home and school wish lists.  I remain as committed as ever to serving the school and as your President on the committee.

Thank you for what has been an incredible year with an even more incredible bunch of people. I look forward to seeing what the remainder of the year brings 😊
