Maungaraki After School Care

Dear Maungaraki School Whanau,

Julia Cross and the Maungaraki After School Care (MASC) committee have done a great job running before and after school care and holiday programmes for our community for a number of years. This is a valued service that many of our children use and enjoy. Unfortunately the committee has recently advised us that it is no longer viable for MASC to continue under the current parent run model and have approached Maungaraki School for help with this.

Maungaraki School acknowledges that the service provided by MASC is an important one for the community and we are committed to ensuring the continuation of a before and after school programme. The school will take over the running of MASC until the end of the 2021 school year as we look to the future. At this stage you shouldn’t see too many changes, things will still run as they are now until the end of the year.

The Maungaraki School BOT has established a Sub Committee to assess the options for 2022 and how we can continue the service. We will keep you up to date with progress toward how 2022 will look. We are still looking at the practicalities of running a holiday programme, but will keep you informed in the coming weeks.
