Term 1
Kia ora whānau,
I hope this message finds you all well and enjoying the moments of autumn here in Aotearoa, even the wind. As we reflect on the first half of the term, it fills me with immense pride to witness the journey our tamariki have embarked upon at Maungaraki School.
The past weeks have been bustling with energy and excitement as our students dived into a diverse range of learning experiences curated by our teaching teams. From the wonders of coding to the joys of construction, the delights of cooking to the rhythms of dancing, our Arts and Waihanga (creativity) programme has truly ignited sparks of curiosity and creativity in our learners.
In classrooms across our school, both staff and students have been fully immersed in their learning journey. It's been heartening to see the dedication and enthusiasm with which our teachers have engaged our ākonga (students), guiding them through the wonders of knowledge and discovery.
One such challenge we are currently working through is our entrance development. Unfortunately this project has hit some unexpected delays, through no fault of the excellent team of builders up there. Check out my property update for more details.
Looking ahead, this project, along with the new three classroom block will transform the school. I am filled with anticipation for the adventures and opportunities that await us and enable us to continue foster a learning environment where our tamariki can thrive, explore, and flourish.
Noho ora mai,
Shane Robinson
