Road Safety

Kia ora,

I hope this newsletter finds you well. Today's newsletter is around the theme of road safety. I often mention road safety in our newsletters, this week due to a range of reasons it is more salient than ever.

Firstly I’m thrilled to announce the completion of our new pedestrian crossing. Safety has always been our priority, especially when it comes to our precious tamariki. Whether you’re walking, cycling, or scooting to school, please make use of this new crossing and encourage your children to do the same. Let’s work together to model safe road crossings.

Speaking of safety, I’d like to take a moment to address our drivers in particular. At our busy drop-off and pick-up times, please exercise additional caution and mindfulness. Our little ones are full of energy and enthusiasm, but they may not always be aware of their surroundings. Please keep an eye out for them as we navigate our way through the morning and afternoon rush. Remember, a little patience and awareness go a long way in ensuring their safety.

In other news, I am relieved to share that our brand-new car park will finally be open starting next week. This addition has been a very long time coming, thank you for your patience with it. It not only enhances safety but also contributes to the overall functionality of our school grounds. Please note that while the car park will be accessible for staff in the morning, it will not be open for drop-off purposes. The old driveway from Dowse Drive will become pedestrian only access and we will also have a second pedestrian access from Barberry Grove. From 4 pm onwards, it will be available for pick-up from Kelly Club and visits to our Community Library.

For the next couple of weeks we will have extra staff around the entrances and exits at drop off and pick up times to guide students and families through the change over. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in making this transition as smooth as possible.

As always, thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
