Start of new teaching block construction at Maungaraki School

We are thrilled to announce the start of construction of a new teaching block containing three classroom spaces. This work is scheduled for the upcoming July school holidays and the build process is expected to be completed August 2024.

The teaching block will be located at the back of the school behind Room 9. The construction site access will be across the main field, so we will be restricting access to the main field during the build period. There will also be no access to the bottom field throughout this time. These are health and safety precautions designed to look after everyone on our school site.

We want to express our gratitude to Hutt City Council for allowing vehicles to access the construction site through the field. The council’s cooperation has enabled us to move forward with this exciting project.

We are expecting increased traffic movement and noise during the construction period. Some construction vehicles will enter and exit through the main entrance. This entrance will still be able to be used by vehicles from the community. It is important to note that community vehicles should use this entrance solely as an entrance – community vehicles should still exit through the Barberry Grove exit.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding during the construction period and thank you for your ongoing support as we work towards providing the best educational environment for our students.
