On Friday, Maungaraki School was lucky enough to host a very special visit from the Wellington Phoenix football team! Our Sports Leaders and the Year 5/6 Maungaraki football team were beyond excited to meet some of the professionals and have the chance to ask them all sorts of questions.

During a Q & A session the students asked about everything from pre-game meals to training routines, and even how long it took to become a professional footballer! But that wasn't all! The Phoenix also took part in a signing session, where students got autographs and had the chance to chat with the players. To top it off, the players joined the Year 5/6 Football team outside for a friendly game!

A very special moment occurred for Jason, who had missed out on receiving his HEART award at assembly that day, so had his certificate presented to him by the Phoenix players themselves! Thank you so much to the Wellington Phoenix, specifically Corban Piper, Paulo Retre, Marco Rojas, Luke Brooke-Smith and Nathan Walker. We feel incredibly grateful and fortunate to have had you up the hill with us. 

LOST PROPERTY

We have a large pile of lost property, we would like to find the owner of as many items as possible. We will have it laid out in the court area of the next few weeks until the end of school. Please come and check the pile.
