Construction in MindPlus!
Challenge: Create a conveyor belt system, using paper and tape, to move a pen from one table to another at a 1m distance.
At MindPlus last week we looked at the concept of "My Brain is Great at… OUR Brains are Great at.." We've learnt that everyone's brain is different and has different strengths and weaknesses. Some brains are good at making things, asking questions, empathising, seeing details, having fun and finding solutions.
We had to consider what our individual brains will be able to bring to task and what our COLLECTIVE brains bring to the task. When making groups for the challenge we made sure we had a mix of 'brain strengths' in our group, not just all 'making things' or 'having fun'.
After the challenge we reflected on what worked and what didn’t. What did our brains ACTUALLY bring to the task? - was it the same as what we expected (ie sometimes we don’t actually know our own brains that well, we are aspirational maybe instead of realistic.) By the end of the challenge we decided that even though our brain basics are the same, every brain works slightly differently.
