COVID-19 Information for Patients
The safety, health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and medical specialists are of utmost importance to us. Please refer below for the latest guidance on our management of Covid-19 and what this means for your surgery.
Everyone coming to Mercy Hospital is required to wash their hands often.
Prior to Coming Into the Hospital
Our staff will ask you Covid-19 screening questions during your preadmission phone call and on your arrival to hospital. You may be asked to complete a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) before your surgery/procedure at Mercy Hospital or Manaaki. If required our staff will perform this test as part of your admission.
If you are feeling unwell prior to your surgery, please let your surgeon know. Patients must be symptom free on the day of surgery.
Household Contacts
If you are a household contact, you must be symptom free and RAT test negative before your surgery. The RAT test will be supervised by your admission nurse. You may be required to undergo RAT testing if you are staying as an inpatient.
Visitors
We have no restrictions on patient visitors. For the safety of our patients and staff please do not visit the hospital if you are feeling unwell.
If you have any questions related to your surgery / procedure, please contact your surgeon’s rooms.
