I’m Makayla Dai Head Girl for 2018. Read more to find out more about me!
Hello I’m Makayla Dai, Merrin's Head Girl for 2018.
I have many important aspects in my life but the most important one is my whānau. I was born here but my parents are from China. At home I have a little brother and a little sister that I love to play with. Going to school is also a very important part in my life. I love making new friends and socialising with new people. It’s also a great place for me to grow my confidence, leadership and help me become a successful leader.
At Merrin I show Rangatiratanga by taking responsibility for many roles and jobs around the school such as a Pupil Councillor, an International Ambassador, Wet Day Monitor, Toas and Anaheras, Road Patroller, Orchestra and a lot more! Some sports I’m interested in are Netball and Soccer. I also love all sorts of music. At home I play the piano and I am currently studying grade 7. I'm also very into art. I love drawing in my free time and I also like making animations.
Normally at home I either play with my siblings, chat with my friends, play games on my ipad or go out to the park with my sister. I love showing Manaakitanga to not only my whanau and friends but also the people around me. I also love meeting new people and I like to keep my friends and family entertained! I’m always responsible and prepared to help so if anyone needs a helping hand or a friendly face, feel free to come find me!
