Last week, the children enjoyed visiting Harold the Giraffe in the Life Education Van. They learnt about how to make choices which are "above the line".

Literacy: We will be focussing on creative writing.

Numeracy: We will be focusing on problem solving. Please encourage your child to practise this on IXL.

Events for the last 3 weeks

Friday 2 December: StarSmart Day - SLIP, SLOP, SLAP and WRAP. StarSmart is a day for Merrin School to create awareness of sun protection and water safety for the Spring and Summer months. 

Children will need: Togs, clothes that can get wet (e.g. rash vest), towel, school sun hat, dry clothes.

Friday 2 December: Carol Evening 5-7 pm. 

Bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the entertainment.

Monday 5 December: International day

Children are to dress up in their National Dress and bring a plate of food for a shared lunch.

Tuesday 6 December: Senior Choir - Singing at Avonhead Mall, 11am.

Monday 12 December: Gala Night, 7pm.  Year 5/6 will be performing with the Year 7/8 in the Kapa Haka.

Friday 16 December: School finishes for the year at 12pm.
