Does it Matter?

Brodie Ridler —

This term we have focused on the physical world of science.

Each classroom will have a turn at using the science kit box from House of Science. It involves getting stuck into a variety of experiments and creating a learning journal to showcase our observations.

Students so far have enjoyed the hands-on experience and investigating what happens when they combine different states of matter.

“Science was so much fun, we got to make flubber and put it into a plastic bag. We got to then push it around and make shapes with it, it felt warm and really stretchy.” Narah Room 17.

"I liked making the crystals, I learnt that you can make crystals from magnesium sulphate and water by mixing them together and then pouring the liquid into a dish. We had to let it sit for a day to watch the crystals form" Surya Room 17

"My favourite experiment from the science box was the sherbet because it was simple and easy even though it tasted really sour. The texture was very powdery and I wouldn't eat it again even if it was easy and fun." Yuchen Room 16
