ESOL Classes Visit The Antarctic Centre!

Mary Johnston —

This morning the students in the the ESOL classes visited the Antarctic Centre as part of their Language Experience Programme.

After we arrived at the Antarctic Centre the students spent time with Lucy in the classroom and found out interesting facts about living in the Antarctic. Jae Young modelled the clothes required to stay warm in the Antarctic, much to the amusement of the other students. The class then split into two groups to explore the Antarctic Centre. The Senior Class visited the Storm Room and then moved to the Penguin section. The Junior children went to the Penguins and then the Storm room. Both groups also visited the display hall and to complete their visit they viewed the amazing film show of life in the Antarctic.

All the children were very interested in what they saw and what they heard. A big "Thank You!" to Lucy and Jane, our two instructors at the Antarctic Centre! It was a great visit!
