Hello, my name is Amanda Simpson and I started this year as the Library Manager in the Bat Cave.

I have loved welcoming the children back to school and seeing the excitement as they discover the changes I have made to the library. I am lucky to meet all the children across all classes and help them develop a life long love of reading.

I have been married for 18 years to Richard and we have two wonderful girls, Mia and Amy who both go to Merrin. We moved to Christchurch from Sydney 4 years ago and love our new home. We have been lucky to have lived in several different cities over the years, from London to Shanghai and of course Sydney but Christchurch is by far the best.

We spend as much time as possible travelling around our new country and have loved exploring the South Island.  I hope to get up North in the next holidays. Of course whenever I can, you will find me buried in a book or sewing.  I love to spend time in my garden and grow some homegrown veggies. I look forward to working with your children this year and spread the love of reading.
