Pataitai Weekly Update Term 3 Week 5

Tania Gallagher —

Respect other people's feelings. Even if it does not mean anything to you, it could mean everything to them.

Thank you to all families who supported the SPCA Cupcake sale, last Monday. The money raised will go towards helping out homeless animals.

Ako Bases

As part of our school wide inquiry we are holding a market day at the end of the term. Our children will be selling crafts and food items that they have made. To help our students understand what a market place is, we encourage you to take your family to visit one. There are plenty of local markets at Riccarton and if you would like to travel further, Oxford, Lyttleton or Darfield.

Writing

This term our focus has been on teaching the children to be self directed in what they write about. This has given the children the opportunity to write in the genre they feel most comfortable, but also to try out some new ways of writing.

Maths

Miss Hebberd's Maths - We will be working on numbers to 100

Ms Gallagher's Maths - We are finishing up Fractions and then moving on to Time.

Ms Mansfield's Maths - We are still working on Mental Maths in all areas.
