Writing Gems

As a school one of our foci is on writing and improving our writing standards as learners and teachers. Each day the students and teachers bring to school a sentence or two to ignite their writing.

"The frost had settled on the grass while I gracefully walked my dog Piper to school." - Ashlyn

"Cotton candy fluff balls glide through the sky on a sunny day. But on a dark, gloomy day they turn into heavy cannon balls." - Cooper

"It felt like it snowed last night, as the freezing cold air blasted on my face while I speeded to school on my bike." - Alex

"The bright golden sunshine shone brightly across the blue sky as I walked along the path to school" – Savannah

"The tiny blue Easter egg was filled with delicious 'caramelness', which melted sweetly in my mouth" - Samantha

Winter Sport

This coming Friday most of Mahuta students will be representing Merrin School in our weekly sport competition. Students will be issued with a uniform, depending on the code. We ask that students come to school in their school uniform and their sports uniform in their bag ready to change before we leave for our venues. Draws for the codes will be sent out via paper copy and a Hail article.
