Ross McGregor

Sarah-Jane Haywood —

Hello, I’m Ross McGregor. I have been a Merrin Board of Trustees member for eighteen months.

My wife Sacha and I have two kiddies at Merrin, Jamie in year three and Amber in year one.

They both absolutely love being at school and have had wonderful teachers.

I went to Merrin School myself for form one and two when my family moved to Christchurch from the North Island back in the early nineties. My Mum, Helen has been involved with Merrin School on and off since that time and currently volunteers in the junior classes. So she’s rather proud that I’m getting involved too.

My working background is in the Construction Industry. I had an Electrical business for eight years and about five years ago moved into the Electrical/Lighting Design and Consultancy, Project Management and Estimating fields.

Our family is pretty active, we love anything to do with water - the beach is our happy place.

My main interests are surfing, carpentry and guitar.

My primary role in the BOT currently is to support Lisa with anything related to the ongoing construction projects and to ensure they are being managed as they should be by the various parties involved. It’s going to be fantastic when it’s all completed.

It has been a great experience learning more about the school and its runnings. It’s also been great getting to know many of the staff and other Merrin families. I look forward to continuing to help the school where I can and to meet more of you.

If you see me about, please do say hi, I’m pretty chatty.
