CPSS Swimming
Thanks to the magic of mobile data and Smartphones, I am very pleased to be able to bring you the results of today's competition at the Selwyn Aquatic centre.
Congratulations to Tom, Soomin, Kayden and Ross who all qualified to compete at the CPSS (Centrals) Swimming Competition at the Selwyn Aquatic centre. To put this event into perspective there were 748 of the best central Canterbury primary school swimmers entered across all events with an average of 35 swimmers in each event. Our boys qualified for this event based on their performances at the North West Zone event last month.
Our swimmers represented Merrin School and the North West exceptionally well. I was very proud to have Merrin printed on the back of my top today.
Tom had a top ten finish in the Year 5 Boys 50m Backstroke. Soomin held on in a very fast paced final to place 4th in the Year 6 Boys 50m Backstroke.
Our senior boys Kayden and Ross both did very well with Kayden finishing in the middle of his field in the Year 8 Boys 50m Backstroke. Ross placed 3rd in his heat after facing a very fast field in the Year 8 Boys 50m Breaststroke.
Well done boys - you should all be very proud of yourselves.
