A busy and dedicated musician and tutor, Naomi spreads her knowledge and joy of music to her cello students at Merrin School every Wednesday.

Merrin is very lucky to have registered Suzuki Cello tutor Naomi Harmer as part of our Itinerant music programme. Naomi has a BMus(Hons) in performance and music education and is a very experienced performer and tutor.

We currently have four cellists learning at Merrin, quite impressive for a primary school but Naomi has room to take one or two more. Her students engage in an individual lesson and a group lesson so while they have time to focus on their own playing and technique they also get to spend time together, making friends and having fun. Once a reasonable level of competence is reached students are able to join the school orchestra, playing a very important role in providing both melody and bass line to the ensemble.
