The first week has flown by and we have been amazed with how our new Year 4 students have settled into Pataitai Pod.

We have sent home a lot of information this week for you to read and return to us. If you have not returned your forms please do so as soon as possible. 

Beach Education to South Brighton Surf Life Saving Club

All of the Year 4 children are off to the Beach next Friday. 

While we are there, we will:

• Learn surf safety rules
  

• How to escape a rip current

• Beach games

• Water activities

• Sun Smart

Each child will need:

• Sun Hat

• Swimwear

• Towel

• T-Shirt / Rash Vest

• Warm Sweatshirt

• Sun Screen

• Packed Lunch and a Drink Bottle

PLEASE ENSURE EVERYTHING IS NAMED

We still require some more helpers for this event. If you are able to help out, please let us know as soon as possible. For this event to go ahead we need a ratio of 1 adult to 5 children.

Hats, Stationary, Bags

Well done to all the students who have brought in their named hats, stationary and bags. If you have not purchased one yet, please ensure your child's stationary in kept in a book box. These can be purchased from Warehouse Stationery. 

Some children still do not have a hat. It is compulsory in Term One and Four to have a suitable wide brimmed hat. Please check with your child that they have one at school.

Lucky Book Club/Library Days

The booklets for the Lucky Book Club came home this week and are due back to school on Friday 10th February. Miss Hebberd's Whānau group will be visiting the Library on Wednesday afternoon and Ms Gallagher's Whānau group will be visiting on Thursday afternoons. We only require one reading/library folder this year for reading and library books collectively.

This evening is pivotal to a strong home/school partnership. It is far more than an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, it is a very important evening whereby the learning opportunities for your child are explained. Please ensure your family is represented.
