Science in the Junior School

Victoria Jermyn —

This term the junior team have been exploring the physical world during our Science unit. The classes rotated each week to a different junior class to participate in experiences and experiments to grow their knowledge and skills around the scientific process and the focus science areas.

Children had the opportunity to explore:- electricity, light, sound, patterns of nature, the water cycle and magnetism.

Here are some of the comments Room 20 had following the completion of our unit:-

I liked the experiments and learning new things. I learned that sound travels really fast. - Frankie

I liked learning how to make stuff go with electricity. - Flynn

I learned that foil is a metal. I did not know that! - Jonah

It was fun connecting the wires to make the lights go. - Sera

I made a light bulb burst with my group. We put in too many batteries. - Phoebe
