Term 2 Week 10

Peri Marks —

Last week of Term 2 and the pedal is still on the throttle.

Congratulations!

To Katy on being selected for the Special Choir. She will perform at the Christchurch Music Festival later in the year.

Literacy

The students have been writing texts in their groups and produced some excellent pieces of writing. This coming week, we will be hearing from those students who have prepared their speeches. These will be taking place in whanau classes.

Reading continues to develop strategies and there has been a focus on summarising text.

Mathematics and Statistics

There has been a continual focus on number knowledge while developing strategy.  At the beginning of sessions, we have been practising the 3x and 4x multiplication basic facts. Some of our higher ability groups have been learning about measurement.

Reminders

- Speeches begin on Tuesday

- This is Mr. Wallis' last week and instead of having a shared lunch, he wishes to have an afternoon of fun on Friday. We are inviting the students to bring a small treat to eat during this time.

- Year 6 students need to ensure that during the holidays their bikes are in working conditions. The first week back of term, they will be participating in the Cycle Safety programme.

- Please send back Cycle Safety and Swimming notices asap. Thank you
