Poem About the Spanish Flu

Annabelle —

Enjoy this awesome poem. Written by our poetic friend Annabelle.

Poem About the Spanish Flu

It was the year 1918,

The air was warm,

Everything felt fine,

We were completely oblivious to what was about to come.

No event has done so much harm,

All the young soldiers needed peace of mind,

After they travelled back through the big blue,

But instead they got the Spanish flu!

The size of Wanaka was gone in a flash,

It took quite a while for NZ to return to life before,

We can not change the past,

So we must try and change our future.

If we learnt anything from 1918,

Was to.....

WASH YOUR HANDS!!
