We have had to make some changes to our upcoming Hangi. Please read on for more information.

Unfortunately due to the providers of our Hangi double booking themselves next Thursday, we have had to make some changes to when we lay our Hangi. We will now be laying our Hangi the following week on Thursday 6th July. 

We do apologise for the change of date for our Hangi and are disappointed that it is not now during Matariki Week. We will still have some activities around Matariki next week to celebrate and will also have some activities for our Hangi the following week.

Our tickets have been selling quickly and we are down to less than 100 tickets left. If you haven't bought your ticket(s) yet, get in quick as you won't want to miss this exciting event for Merrin School. We have offered you all the following options so that everyone may enjoy this experience: 

Children: $5 each

 Adults: $10 each.

Please get your money to the office as soon as possible.

Tickets: We have been collating them as they have been coming in and marking these against the class lists. This is to ensure on the day that each class has the right amount of tickets/hangi. We will be handing out the tickets to the students on the day of the hangi so they do not get lost. If you have purchased extra tickets, they will be with the classroom teacher and will be given to you once you arrive to school. 

If you are now unable to join us on the day for our hangi, we will put aside your order for you to collect at the end of the day.

The format of how the day will run for the students will be same:  Our Hangi will be laid in the morning and ready to eat at 2pm on this day. All of the students will get to see the process of a Hangi during the day will have some activities to learn more about a Hangi. We welcome you to join us at 1.30pm when our Kapa Haka students will perform and we will have a karakia before we eat.
