Year 7/8 Softball

Samantha Sykes - February 6, 2019

On Tuesday the 5th of February, year 7/8 had the great opportunity to have a go at playing softball!

Most of year 7/8 had not played softball before, but with the help of two coaches from 'Canterbury Sport' everyone learnt some basic softball skills.

Firstly, we had a go at throwing and catching using a traditional glove and ball.  Secondly, we played 'softball tag'. Here are the rules; there are two teams, one is the bibs and the other is the non-bibs. The bibs are trying to tag the other team using a ball, with out stepping. You have to communicate with your team mates so you can pass the ball to them at the right time. If you drop the ball, someone who is already out comes back into the game. Once ten minutes is up, the team swap roles!

Softball is really fun and we both recommend giving it a go!
