Merrin School’s Newspaper!!

Stephen Simpson —

The writers of our school newspaper have put together an overview of their experiences in getting this pubication up and running this year...

This year a group of Year 7’s began a school newspaper.

Currently it’s just circulating in the senior block, but we expect it to grow later on next year in 2020.

This newspaper has been given out children in Year 7 and 8. It gives them the ability to read about each others’ accomplishments and the other fun activities happening round the school. There’s also a combo of maths puzzles and sudoku. This is ideal for young minds.

So far the newspaper has been very successful with lots of people reading and enjoying the fun activities and articles we children have written in our spare time.

Our feedback from the students in Year 7/8 who’ve read our newspaper is that they have been thrilled to receive their copies and to hear about what has been happening in and outside of the school grounds.

Once we have left Merrin School, we do hope that the next generation of 7/8s carry on our creation and write more great articles so the newspaper grows into something that everyone can enjoy and read!

Thanks from the newspaper team.
