Children’s First Saver Bank Accounts

As your local Kiwibank we would like to offer the opportunity to encourage your children to save with a First Saver account. These accounts are for children up to the age of 18 and currently have a 1.25% interest rate with no transaction fees*.

We collect deposits from the school every Thursday morning starting 09 March 2017. If you would like your child to participate and they don’t already have a First Saver account you are welcome to open one with us.

To open an account please contact Kiwibank Avonhead on 3584835 to make an appointment. You will need to bring the following:

1. Your child’s Birth Certificate or Passport and IRD number.

The Parent/Caregiver(s) who will be the signatory for children under 14 will need to bring all of the following:

2. Drivers Licence or Passport and IRD number

3. Credit card or ATM/Eftpos card from another bank with your name embossed on it.

4. Utility bill or bank statement from another bank not less than 60 days old (this verifies your address)

5. A deposit to open the account.

Once the account is opened your child will receive a deposit book in a sealed bag. For those children who already have an account with Kiwibank they can collect a deposit book and sealed bag from Kiwibank at Avonhead to enable them to participate in the school banking.

If your child will be participating please complete the deposit slip in their deposit book and place the book in the resealable bag along with their money.

Children can place their deposit bag in the drop-box in the school office foyer prior to 9.00am. Kiwibank staff will process the deposit and return the child’s deposit book to the school.
